ARE YOU INTERESTED in having your next adventures in audio utterly devastated mixed by the most loving of hands? Don't hesitate to shoot an email this way and let's take it from there.

YOU RECORD IT, I'll mix it! BORGLAB brings life to your recordings, putting in the hours required until it's done. By providing you with balanced mixes tailored to your specific preferences, using a hybrid setup combining both high-end analog and digital tools, we'll take your project where you want it to be. Sometimes beyond. Although I don't work for free, BORGLAB is primarily a labor of love with its roots deeply embedded in the DIY-band community. If you're in a nice independent outfit with little to spend, chances are I can cut you some slack within reasonable terms. Get in touch.

SOME QUICK GUIDELINES FOR AUDIO FILES / MIXING:

If you're recording to digital, always keep your recorded signals in a safe zone - avoid hitting the red parts of those DAW meters at all costs to keep your project free from unwanted digital distortion. Recording at 24 bit is greatly recommended, as noise floor no longer becomes an issue at this bit depth and you can keep the in-going signals at a very moderate level without loss of audio quality.

  • ZIP or RAR archived WAV or AIFF files, adhering to the specifications stated below.
  • 16 or 24 bit, the Lab does 'em both but recommends the latter. I might be coerced into accepting multi-channeled mix project delivered in 32 bit float, but please consider mixing them down to 24 bit instead as this result in smaller, easier-to-handle files with no degradation in audio quality.
  • 44.1 up to 96 kHz, and anything in between.
  • If sending multiple songs, please put the files for each project into separated, properly named folders (and subfolders, e.g. Drums, Guitars, Bass, Screaming) before ZIP/RAR compression.
  • Always include a text file briefly detailing any special preferences, suggestions and possible reference tracks. It's always better to find out sooner than later, and can really help the creative dialogue and obtaining the result you're going for.
